Our Story
The Stay MENtally Strong Foundation was established in memory of Sean Oliverson, a beloved orthodontist, husband and father who tragically took his life after a struggle with mental heath.
Sean's loss brought unimaginable heartbreak to his family, friends, and the community he loved. His story also revealed how men can struggle silently with their mental health.
We believe no man should have to face those struggles alone. We want to make it easy for men to find and access resources at every stage of struggling with mental health.
Through mental health resources, support groups, professional assistance, preventative education, and financial support, we are working to open the conversation around men's mental health and remind every man that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Who We Are
Meet Gina Oliverson, Founder of the Stay MENtally Strong Foundation
In 2024, my husband, Sean, died by suicide after struggling with mental illness. He was a beloved orthodontist, a devoted father to our three children, and the person who meant the world to us. He was hardworking, accomplished, and deeply loved.
Our family continues to navigate grief every day. We miss Sean in the big moments and the little ones. Grief doesn't simply disappear, but through our pain, we have found a purpose in making a difference.
Losing Sean has strengthened my determination to help other men who may be suffering in silence. We know that someone can look successful on the outside while fighting a battle no one else can see. Every man deserves to know that he doesn't have to face those struggles alone.
Through the Stay MENtally Strong Foundation, we are turning our love for Sean into action by providing education, connection, and access to mental health resources and support.
Sean's story is part of why we began. Helping other men find hope is how we carry his legacy forward.
Thank you for being part of this mission. Together, we can help more men feel seen, supported, and strong enough to ask for help.
Our Mission
The vision for this Foundation is to create a supportive and stigma-free environment where men can openly discuss and seek help for their mental health issues, reducing the rates of suicide and improving overall well-being in the community.
Our mission is to provide comprehensive mental health support and raise awareness for men in Northern Utah, focusing on those with mental health issues and suicidal thoughts/ideations. The Foundation will offer resources, support groups, professional assistance, preventative education, and mental health condition services to help men navigate their mental health challenges, with a special arm dedicated to professionals in healthcare and highly confidential professions.
